Materials and care

Our hair claws are crafted from cellulose acetate, a plant-based material derived from natural fibres such as cotton and wood pulp.

Unlike conventional plastic, acetate is stronger, more flexible and more durable. It allows for greater depth of colour and a natural sheen that cannot be achieved with standard synthetic materials. It is also a more considered choice, widely regarded as a more sustainable alternative within fashion accessories.

We choose acetate because it brings together aesthetics, quality and longevity — creating pieces that are solid, comfortable and designed to stand the test of time.

To keep your hair claw in excellent condition, we recommend handling it with care. Here are a few simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Do not submerge in water, as the internal spring mechanism may deteriorate and lose tension over time.
  • Gently wipe with a soft cloth after use to remove any oils or hair product residue and restore its natural shine.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as acetate — a biodegradable and flexible material — may fade or warp.
  • Store in the cotton pouch provided, away from dust and potential knocks.

With these simple precautions, your hair claw will retain its beauty for years to come.

LABARCINO jewellery is handcrafted using carefully selected materials chosen for their quality and durability.

Our pieces are made from 925 sterling silver and finished with a generous layer of 14, 18 or 24 karat gold, depending on the design. Each piece is stamped with the 925 hallmark, certifying the purity of the base metal.

During production, an additional protective coating is applied to help delay tarnishing and extend the life of the piece.

We use carefully selected freshwater pearls in our designs. No two baroque pearls are ever identical — their shape, size and subtle tones, ranging from white to soft pink and champagne, make each piece truly unique.

The cubic zirconia stones we use are AAA grade, ensuring a lasting, brilliant sparkle.

All our jewellery is hypoallergenic and free from nickel, cadmium and lead, so it can be worn with confidence — even on sensitive skin.

To enjoy your jewellery for many years, we recommend following these simple guidelines:

  • Although designed for everyday wear, gold plating can gradually wear if exposed repeatedly to chemicals, perfumes, lotions, alcohol, chlorine, salt water or perspiration. We therefore advise removing your jewellery before sleeping, showering, exercising or swimming.
  • Pearls are organic gemstones and naturally delicate. To preserve their lustre, apply personal care products at least 30 minutes before putting them on, and remove them before going to bed.
  • To clean jewellery set with cubic zirconia, use a small soft-bristled brush with warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry carefully with a clean cloth.
  • After each wear, gently wipe your jewellery with a soft cloth to remove any oils or residue accumulated throughout the day.
  • When not in use, store your pieces in the vegan suede pouch provided with your order, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent tarnishing or discolouration.
